Exercise is great for seniors. Elderly adults who regularly exercise are less likely to suffer a disability and if they do they tend to recover faster a new clinical trial found. This study completed by Patricia Katz a professor of medicine at University of California San Francisco and Dr. Thomas Gill professor of geriatrics at Yale school of Medicine showed the moderate walking can do the trick. The researchers recruited more than 1600 sedentary adults age 70 to 89. Half exercised and half attended health education classes. Over the next 3.5 years people who exercised spent 25% less time with a major movement disability compared to the other participants. So everyone lets walk.
