It appears the drought is over in Northern California as heavy rain and snow are plummeting the Northern California area. The Sierra Nevada Snowpack is well above average. The heavy release of waters from the area dams has led to a gaping hole in the Oroville Dam spillway and more water is entering the lake than being released. Officials say no worries but Oroville kids don't have school today. Meanwhile, snowfall in Truckee, CA is overwhelming city workers that can't keep up with keeping the roads and berms plowed due to the amounts of snow. We have had over twice the normal amount of rain and snow which has ended the drought in Northern Ca but Southern CA has not had as much rain and reservoirs and underground water supplies remain below normal. We will need another wet winter next year to pull southern Ca out of the drought.
