Scores of Parisians gathered on the banks of the Seine Tuesday to survey the damage to their beloved Cathedral. For over 800 years Notre Dame has stood as a symbol of Paris and France and housed some of the worlds most iconic treasures. The people of the world are responding by pledging monies to help the French rebuild. President Emmanuel Macron vowed to swiftly restore the structure. I thought that Notre Dame was one of the most beautiful monuments to faith and beauty and defined Paris for me. The French are unified in their determination to rebuild and the world stands with them.
